May 2020

With the imposed lockdown and the outdoor community staying local, its’s been for the most part a quiet month for AMRT. Team training has consisted of Zoom sessions and exercises, ranging from radio comm’s practise to first aid knowledge. A bit of flexibility and adaptability has definitely been required to enable us to still carry out some training without risking cross infection of team members, in case a call out is required to an incident.

In the last week of May a small contingent of team members were tasked by Police Scotland to assist with the search for a missing person in the Clachnaben area and Deeside. The team were out for multiple days looking for the individual, until thankfully he was located safe and well by a game keeper in Glen Esk.

With the lockdown rules being relaxed elsewhere we’d just like to remind everyone that the advice for Scotland is still to recreate within 5 miles of your home and that public car parks that allow access to the hills remain closed. Thanks for your continued support and stay safe.
