Presentation To 107 Squadron (Aberdeen) Air Training Corps

The Team is often asked to give talks and presentations on mountain rescue and safety in the mountains to hill walking groups, scout troops, army and air cadets etc. AMRT were invited to give a talk to 107 Squadron (Aberdeen) Air Training Corps, 3 Team members presented and overview of Scottish Mountain Rescue in general and the history of Aberdeen Mountain Rescue Team in particular with first aid demonstrations and a brief tour of the vehicles we use.

These are great opportunities to raise awareness of keeping safe when you are out in the hills; we talk about having a good knowledge of navigation and the importance of carrying the appropriate kit for a day’s walking. Engaging with your group through first aid demonstrations and ‘hands on’ explanations of the kit we carry as individuals and as a team always goes down well as people are eager to be involved. We were impressed with the enthusiasm of the cadets and their willingness to participate, they were certainly interested in what we had to say and asked some very thoughtful questions.

If you are a member of a group who would be interested in an AMRT talk, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
