Westhill ATC visit

On the 22nd June two team members were invited to visit the Westhill Air Training Corps base. Stuart Warrender and I attended and gave a short talk on the history of Aberdeen MRT and mountain rescue in general. We discussed the area covered by AMRT and described the different types of training involved. The air cadets then had an opportunity to go through our winter packs for a short familiarisation with winter hill kit and rescue equipment. The session was concluded by a group first aid scenario - basic checks on a casualty with a broken leg, splint, package in a stretcher - and then a tour around one of the team land rovers. It was a great session, with some interesting questions from a group of very enthusiastic young individuals.

Thanks for hosting us Westhill ATC.
